Voices of Legislative Yuan: Concluding the Chapter
Hi frens,
As you may know, I’ve been working on a project called “Voices of Legislative Yuan”(立法院大小聲), as part of open parliament movement in Taiwan. I received grants from Administration for Digital Industries, moda, but unfortunately failed to move forward to the next stage.
I’m so honored to have the opportunity to work with Plain Law Movement (法律白話文運動), highlighting an amazing video on Instagram Reels, with over 725,000 views and counting:
We also had a great “product launch” on the flyingV crowdfunding platform. This app has benefited and achieved over 10,000 downloads.
And of course, special thanks to those I’m familiar with: Open Culture Foundation (OCF), Citizen Congress Watch (CCW), g0v community, and all my friends. I couldn’t start this project without those connections.
It’s a good time to look back at this:
Lastly, With the assistance of assigned consultants from Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), I learned to illustrate our goals brightly.
The moda grants aim for supporting “sustainable development” as their ultimate goal. I remembered vividly that, when talking with consultants, I expressed the notion that I don’t necessarily need to secure grants for sustainable development. Being a professional software developer, I understand how to maintain an app sustainably.
So, the app is ready for the upcoming new term of Legislative Yuan. While the open parliament movement may slow down, it won’t stop. And I’m looking for the next opportunity.
Your friend,
Denken
