Hi frens,
Recently I’ve been looking for the next project management software for my next side project to try on. I’ve tried 2Do, Todoist, Evernote, Simplenote and some other note apps, and they’re good enough for one-person side projects. In a broader sense, life or work is about project management.
Many note-taking, todo, even mind-mapping or calendar software tend to incorporate more features for project management. One of the most popular example is Notion. It started as note-taking web app and features “databases” as collections of pages instead of people using Microsoft Excels as database forms. That product innovation has also brought template marketplace, and Notion unbelievably reaches 100 million users during the pandemic in 2020.
However, I never love Notion particularly for its awful mobile user experience. It was even just a full-blown web view embedded in the mobile app. At that time, I learned about Craft from MacStories and love how it designs and delivers great mobile editing experience. However, compared with Notion, Craft probably fell behind at free plan and cross-platform solutions.
Then I just found new features: Tasks, Collections, Styling, all in beta, which clearly play catching-up with todo and database features. I wish them continue to grow and be more competitive.
Project management is simply tooling for team communication and product delivery. The best approach is the one that works for you, which is why so many project management software options exist—each tailored to meet different needs.
Your friend,
