Jay Chou
Hi frens,
Jay Chou’s early albums were truly iconic melodies of our youth age. Lots of hot hits in our KTV age. He was ranked 9th in the Global Recording Artist. Jay Chou’s shows was absent from Taiwan for the past seven years and just staged four shows at the Taipei Dome for the past few days. Fans who couldn’t get the tickets either begging for one, sat outside of the hall, or listened to video clips on Threads, joking as sitting underground.
I was wondering why Threads successfully played the role of retrospective entertainment. Jay Chou’s fans, who are mostly in their 30s, are also active on Threads. Its algorithm surfaces trendy posts for the community, and Jay’s company contributed to the show’s popularity by sharing clips with traditional media.
Meta’s centralized social platforms have been really good at entertaining for the mass audience. I wonder whether Fediverse could do the same job, or it shouldn’t?
No, it shouldn’t. Just like lifestyle books often top the rankings, and that doesn’t mean it’s the only category existing. I don’t listen to Jay Chou’s music as often as many other indie music that stands out, and I would like to see more unique Federverse instances emerge.
Your friend,
Denken
