Fragmented social networks
Hi frens,
We live in an era of fragmented social networks, and I sometimes wonder how to manage them better.
Putting aside video stuff, Threads is fun and popular in Taiwan. X (former Twitter) is still popular in crypto community, though Lens and Farcaster continue to build their communities, and Bluesky has been growing rapidly.
I started my crypto journey from Matters.Town and then Liker.Social, building our own Web3Matters Weekly and community.
Some people manage their social networks by cross-posting, which I often found it weird. I’m not the person to give the same speech for multiple places.
So I started to reflect how I had fun and felt comfortable with social networks, for examples:
Build private connections with friends
Be a public creator or make career connections
Use multiple (anonymous) identities to play within communities
One thing I’m always avoiding is mixing them together, like using your real identity for all matters. Some social network platforms love that. But I always found it too additive and toxic when you’re linking yourself and being too serious about online activities. That’s how many KOLs business works, though.
Your friend,
Denken
