Hi frens,
Bureaucracy makes us tired and makes things slow. Why do we need bureaucracy?
Compared with startups that may spend years to gain impact, bureaucracy empowers new players and encloses them into rules. That internal conflicts make creative new player eventually trapped in rules, or has to play by rules, “the Utopia of Rules.”
In bureaucracy, layers of management somewhat ensure even something new doesn’t go wrong. But that often makes us tired because some managers don’t know much about execution, don’t take responsibility for execution, but still have something to say, so we often have to communicate and build trust out of nowhere. That already sounds tiring, isn’t it.
Managers take risks as well from taking responsibility for the outcome. That always puzzles me. Why do human beings have to put someone on the spot, just to play, politics? We’ve seen this happen over and over again, in many fields.
Sometimes I feel that even project management is much more practical and reasonable than bureaucratic management. For example, we would discuss and resolve every issue as we move forward. An issue could be closed or reopened. Transparency encourages reason, if any.
At least we will have a transparent and fair environment where everyone has an equal voice, when present.
Your friend,
Denken
Thought of one meme video clip.
