Hi frens,

I know a majority of people subscribe to this letter simply because https://basm.substack.com recommends it for unknown reasons. I did trade stocks either in Taiwan or the US market, and some cryptocurrencies, but not spend much time in it. Probably a good time to start exploring again this year.

Let me start with cryptocurrency.

Web3 people like to talk about getting mass adoption, but rarely talk about how their products or even how cryptocurrencies work together to benefit our lives. Let’s face these hard questions and be more practical.

To me, web3 started from cryptocurrency, which is the Renaissance of private currency. Cryptocurrency is intrinsically appealing as an investment opportunity. And we rarely talk about making investments “mass-adopted”, so why bothers?

I tend to read more economics books when exploring what cryptocurrency is, including “what currency is” and “how investment works”. So instead of just getting profit, I’m more interested in creating value. So how would that work, practically?
